How Activated Oxygen Works on your Skin
Oxygen is required for healthy skin cells but many face creams and skin care treatments don't allow for oxygen to reach the cells. There have been multiple clinical studies performed on the powerful properties of activated oxygen. Activated oxygen, originates as ozone gas, commonly known as the layer that protects earth from harmful UV rays. Ozone is the most sought after, natural substance available for its medical and antimicrobial, pathogen-fighting, antifungal properties. It is used in hospitals and by doctors across the world. When injecting ozone gas into natural plant oils, it reacts with the oil's natural fatty acids and changes the ozone to new compounds called ozonides and secondary compounds called peroxides. Thus, you are not technically applying ozone on your skin. Ozone contains three atoms of oxygen (O3) rather than the two atoms of the oxygen we breathe (O2). When applied to the skin the additional atom of oxygen binds to the toxins in your skin (such as bacteria, pathogens, fungus and viruses), leaving behind only pure oxygen (O2) your skin will directly use for cell reproduction. We chose jojoba oil for BIO3 Face Cream because it is an ester with large molecules known to not clog pores and it best resembles sebum, the oil which our body produces naturally. Applying jojoba tricks your skin in producing less oil so you remain dry throughout the day! This makes our face cream perfect for sensitive, acne prone skin as well as normal and combination skin.
We chose olive oil for BIO3 Eye Salve because it forms a beautiful salve that effectively hydrates the area around the eye and removes any toxins left behind from the cosmetics that we use or environmental factors we face.
